What Is a Submersible Cable and Why Can't You Use a Regular Cable?

Submersible cable is a specially designed electrical cable used to operate equipment—most commonly pumps—while fully submerged in water, such as in borewells, open wells, and underwater installations.

Unlike standard wires, a submersible cable is built to withstand constant exposure to water, moisture, pressure, and harsh environmental conditions without losing performance or safety.

What Makes a Submersible Cable Different?

A submersible cable has unique construction features that make it ideal for underwater use:
