Submersible Cables
3 core flat submersible cable for borewells, agriculture, and industrial motors – built to go deep, stay reliable, and outlast every voltage fluctuation India throws at it. Manufactured at our Bhiwadi plant. IS 694 / BIS certified.
India's Widest Submersible Cable Range - Under One Roof, One Manufacturer.
BMI manufactures three variants of flat submersible cable, each engineered for a specific performance tier and customer need. Together, they cover every borewell and submersible pump application from domestic household borewells to heavy industrial pumps.
What Is a Submersible Cable and Why Can't You Use a Regular Cable?
Submersible cable is a specially designed electrical cable used to operate equipment—most commonly pumps—while fully submerged in water, such as in borewells, open wells, and underwater installations.
Unlike standard wires, a submersible cable is built to withstand constant exposure to water, moisture, pressure, and harsh environmental conditions without losing performance or safety.
What Makes a Submersible Cable Different?
A submersible cable has unique construction features that make it ideal for underwater use:
- Waterproof Insulation: High-grade PVC or rubber insulation prevents water ingress.
- Seamless Sheathing: Eliminates gaps where moisture could enter.
- High Dielectric Strength: Ensures safe power transmission even in wet conditions.
- Flexible Design: Allows easy installation in deep borewells.
- Corrosion Resistance: Protects against chemicals and minerals in water.
Why You Can’t Use a Regular Cable?
Using a normal cable instead of a submersible cable is risky and inefficient:
- Water Damage: Regular cables absorb moisture, leading to insulation failure.
- Short Circuits: Water penetration can cause electrical leakage and hazards.
- Reduced Lifespan: Standard wires degrade quickly in submerged conditions.
- Safety Risks: Higher chances of electric shock and system failure.
- Frequent Breakdowns: Leads to costly repairs and downtime.
Where Are Submersible Cables Used?
- Borewell and open well pumps
- Agricultural irrigation systems
- Industrial water handling
- Sewage and drainage pumps
Engineered for Groundwater Reality - Not Just a Spec Sheet
Field-Tested Angle Every feature in our submersible flat cable exists because a real failure mode in borewell applications demanded it. Not a boardroom decision. Not a cost-cutting compromise. Farmers losing crops to burned-out motors, technicians pulling up cracked cables after one season those failures shaped every layer, every compound, every millimetre of wall thickness in our design.
